Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Promises Over 12 Lakh Government Jobs by 2024-25
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced an ambitious plan to significantly boost employment in the state, pledging that over 12 lakh people will be given government jobs by the 2024-25 fiscal year. In the more immediate term, he stated that more than 11 lakh people will secure government positions within the next year.
Nitish highlighted the progress already made under the Saat Nishchay-2 initiative, reporting that 5.18 lakh appointments have been completed. Additionally, 1.99 lakh appointment letters are ready for distribution, with the recruitment process underway for a further 5.17 lakh positions.
This announcement surpasses the initial target of 10 lakh government jobs set under Saat Nishchay-2, with Nitsh now aiming for over 12 lakh jobs by 2024-25. To date, more than 22 lakh jobs have been created under this initiative, with more than 11 lakh new employment opportunities expected in the coming year.
To facilitate these plans, a requisition for 2.11 lakh new appointments has been sent to various recruitment commissions, with another requisition for 2.34 lakh vacancies to be sent within the next month. Furthermore, an additional 72,000 vacancies are anticipated to arise in the next year, with their requisition planned for next year.
So far, 5.16 lakh individuals have already secured government jobs. The process for another 1.99 lakh positions has been completed, with the goal of distributing appointment letters within the next three months.
Nitish has directed ministers and top officials from all relevant departments to work in a mission mode to achieve these employment targets within the next year, emphasizing the importance of this initiative for Bihar’s development.
