Bihar CM to Personally Oversee Road Construction Progress, Focus on Patna-Gaya and Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama Routes
Patna: Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to embark on a series of inspections of major road construction projects across the state, with a focus on identifying and resolving ongoing issues. The inspections will begin with the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road on September 5, where the Chief Minister will personally assess the progress and challenges faced in completing the highway, particularly concerning the construction of bypasses.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will engage directly with officials on-site, including the District Magistrate of the respective district, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project officer, and other relevant authorities. The discussions will aim to pinpoint specific problems hindering the completion of the road, ensuring that necessary actions are taken to expedite the process.
Following the inspection of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road, the Chief Minister will turn his attention to the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama four-lane road approximately five to six days later. This road, constructed on a greenfield alignment, includes two road overbridges (ROBs) and has seen significant progress, with a large portion already completed. The Chief Minister will also review the construction of a key bridge along this route.
One of the critical aspects of these inspections will be the Chief Minister’s evaluation of land acquisition challenges, which have been a significant bottleneck in road development projects. The status of compensation distribution to landowners will be closely scrutinized, along with any delays related to forest clearance that may be affecting progress.
In addition, the Chief Minister will hold on-the-spot discussions with officials and construction company representatives to address delays caused by the construction companies themselves. This hands-on approach is expected to bring greater accountability and accelerate the completion of these vital infrastructure projects.
