Bihar Diwas 2025: Tourism Department to Host Bihari Cuisine Fair at Gandhi Maidan

Patna: A Bihari cuisine fair will be held at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, as part of Bihar Diwas 2025 celebrations, the state’s Tourism Department announced on Tuesday. Organized by Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., the fair will offer visitors a chance to experience the traditional flavors of the state.

The event will feature stalls serving a variety of iconic dishes, including pua-kheer, litti-chokha, and khurma-belgrami, along with other regional specialties. A total of 50 food stalls are being set up over an area of 220 feet by 450 feet. Entrepreneurs interested in showcasing Bihari cuisine can secure a stall for Rs 1,000. Each stall will measure 15 feet by 10 feet, with an additional kitchen area of 15 feet by 8 feet.

Among the culinary highlights are chuda-ghughani, khaja from Silav and Supaul, lai from Badh and Dhanrua, peda from Khagaria, kheer mohan from Sitamarhi, spicy sattu juice, jalebi, belgrami from Ara, pitha, moong kachori, khoya bara, balushahi, maize bread with mustard greens, chaat, chowmein, litchi juice, amla candy, dosa-idli, kulhad tea, golgappa, saffron kulfi, murabba, falooda thandai, aahuna mutton, Bihari kebab, and chicken curry.

The fair will adhere to food safety standards, with provisions for proper waste management throughout the venue.
