Bihar Diwas at Gandhi Maidan to Be a Zero Waste Event

CPSE Vendor Development Programme and Industrial Exhibition Begins in Patna

Patna: Bihar Diwas celebrations at Gandhi Maidan are being organized as a zero waste event, with Patna Municipal Corporation taking extensive measures to maintain cleanliness and sustainability. The five-day event will include various awareness programs and exhibitions to inform the public about the corporation’s initiatives. Municipal officials, councilors, employees, and citizens will actively participate in promoting sanitation and waste management.

A special exhibition by the Municipal Corporation will highlight its ongoing projects and services, including sanitation initiatives, the operation of the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), and Corporation Control Room services. Displays of pink toilets and loo cafés will showcase improved public sanitation facilities, emphasizing the importance of clean and accessible restrooms in urban areas.

To ensure a waste-free event, the corporation has deployed teams to manage waste collection efficiently. Wet and dry waste will be collected daily from food stalls, sorted, and processed on-site. Temporary toilets will be set up alongside pre-built pink toilets and loo cafés, while adequate water tankers and water ATMs will be installed to provide clean drinking water.

The Municipal Corporation will also engage visitors in providing feedback on sanitation services and waste management practices. Awareness campaigns throughout the event will encourage citizens to adopt cleaner habits, making Bihar Diwas a model for sustainable public events.
