Bihar Education Department Releases Transfer List for 10,225 Teachers

Patna: The Bihar Education Department has released the transfer list of 10,225 teachers, allowing them to be posted in their preferred districts. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Education Department Secretary Ajay Yadav, where various aspects of the transfer process were discussed in detail. The transfers were processed based on self-declaration forms submitted on the e-Shiksha Kosh portal.
The department had received 1,90,000 applications for transfer, with 51,284 teachers seeking inter-district transfers. After thorough scrutiny at the headquarters level, 10,225 teachers were allotted their chosen districts. All transferred teachers have been instructed to upload two affidavits on the portal, and any false information provided will lead to disciplinary action.
In the first phase, priority was given to teachers suffering from serious illnesses. On January 10, 2025, the department approved the transfer of 47 regular teachers with severe health conditions. Later, on February 25, 2025, 260 teachers appointed through Bihar Public Service Commission (TRE-1 and TRE-2) and suffering from incurable diseases were also transferred.
The Education Department aims to ensure transparency and efficiency in the transfer process, enabling teachers to work in their preferred locations. The meeting was attended by Director of Primary and Secondary Education Sahila, Deputy Director of Primary Education Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy Director of Secondary Education Abdus Salam Ansari, and other officials.
