Bihar Endures Severe Heatwave as IMD Predicts End to Scorching Spell by June 17
Patna: Several districts in Bihar, including the capital Patna, continue to suffer under an intense heatwave. On Saturday, 13 districts experienced severe heat conditions, with two additional districts also facing extreme temperatures.
However, a change in the weather is anticipated from June 17 onwards. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of thunderstorms and lightning across Bihar on June 18 and 19. During this period, light to moderate rainfall is expected in some areas, providing much-needed relief from the heat. Patna is also likely to see rain on June 17.
The IMD predicts that maximum temperatures in many parts of the state will drop below 40 degrees Celsius by June 18, signaling an end to the current heatwave.
Rain is forecasted for 18 districts, including Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, and Jamui.
These weather changes are expected to bring significant relief to the residents of Bihar, who have been enduring scorching temperatures for several days.
