Bihar Floor Test: CM Nitish, Tejashwi Yadav reached assembly, Assembly Session Starts
Patna: In a pivotal moment for Bihar’s political landscape, the fate of the NDA government hangs in the balance as the state Assembly convenes today for a decisive session. On the 15th day since the formation of the NDA government, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to present a crucial trust vote in the House, marking a critical juncture in the state’s governance.
Amidst heightened anticipation, CM Nitish Kumar, alongside both Deputy CMs, has arrived at the Assembly, signaling the gravity of the impending proceedings. Outside the Assembly, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary’s cryptic remark, “the game has been played, Tejashwi has got the toy,” underscores the intensity of the political maneuvering at play. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent figure in Bihar politics, has also made his way to the Assembly premises, accompanied by his MLAs.
The absence of JDU MLA Bima Bharti raises questions, adding a layer of uncertainty to the unfolding drama. Similarly, the non-appearance of BJP’s Rashmi Verma and Bhagirathi Devi in Patna further adds to the intrigue surrounding the proceedings.
The day’s agenda is set to commence with the Speaker’s address, marking the beginning of the budget session of the Assembly. Subsequently, Governor’s address at 11:30 in the Central Hall will set the stage for further deliberations.
The focus will then shift to the process of removing Speaker Avadh Bihari Chaudhary, with a no-confidence motion tabled against him by the NDA. The Speaker’s resignation, if tendered, will fast-track the commencement of the floor test proceedings. However, in the absence of resignation, a formal no-confidence motion will be presented, paving the way for a critical showdown.
