Bihar: Gopalganj Police Crack Down on Illicit Liquor Trade, Seize 211 Tetra Packs

GOPALGANJ – Despite facing various challenges, the police in Bihar are striving to curb the illicit liquor trade. In recent incidents, a total of 211 Tetra packs of alcohol were seized in separate operations in the Gopalganj district. During these operations, the police apprehended two women and three teenagers. Further action is underway in this case.

In one operation, the police in Kuchayakot Thana area apprehended two women descending from a train near the Sasamusa railway station. They were caught with 100 Tetra packs of alcohol. The arrested women are identified as Babita Devi and Manisha Devi, residents of Harkhua village in the Gopalganj Nagar Thana area.

In another operation, the police intercepted three teenagers on bikes near Madhomath village on National Highway 27. They were caught with 111 Tetra packs of alcohol, and two bikes were also seized during this operation.

After questioning, all the apprehended individuals are being presented in the respective courts for further legal proceedings. Additionally, in Bhojre Thana, the police arrested two individuals with 90 bottles of liquor and a bike. Following necessary documentation, they were presented in court on Wednesday morning.

It is reported that the police received information about individuals transporting alcohol on bikes in Ghannachakpar. Acting on the tip-off, the police apprehended the suspects along with the bike, leading to the discovery of 90 bottles of country liquor during a search of the bag tied to the bike.
