Bihar Goverment Approves Rs 56 crore for Renovation of Roads and Drains Across Six Districts

The state government has cleared 12 new infrastructure schemes to improve roads and drainage systems in Patna, Vaishali, Motihari, Gopalganj, Saharsa, and Muzaffarpur.

Patna: Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin on June 27 approved 12 infrastructure schemes worth over Rs 56 crore aimed at improving roads and drainage systems across six districts. The approval was granted under the State Plan Fund with instructions to officials to expedite the initiation of work.

Nitin said the government is committed to ensuring smooth and safe traffic for citizens, with both urban and rural roads identified for renovation. The projects include not only construction of new roads but also widening, repair of damaged stretches, and drain construction to address waterlogging issues during the monsoon.

Of the 12 schemes, five are in Patna, two in Vaishali, two in Motihari, and one each in Gopalganj, Saharsa, and Muzaffarpur. Nitin added that all selected roads will improve connectivity and organisation within these districts.

Earlier this week, the minister had approved 11 schemes worth more than Rs 70 crore for road and drain construction across five districts.
