Patna: The Bihar government has launched a new online portal to help construction workers get benefits from welfare schemes easily. The Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (BOCW) portal was inaugurated on Monday by Labour Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh in Patna.

With this portal, workers can now register online, renew their membership, apply for help, and check their application status anytime. Minister Singh said this is a big step towards transparency and will make sure workers get their benefits without delays.

Many senior officials were present at the event, including Alok Kumar, Special Secretary of the Labour Department, Sunil Kumar Yadav, Secretary of the Board, and Rajesh Bharti, Labour Commissioner. Officers from Indian Bank were also there to support the portal’s integration for direct transfers to workers’ bank accounts.

The minister said that Bihar’s welfare schemes were praised at an international event in Geneva this year. He added that the government is working continuously to improve the lives of workers. He asked officials to make sure all 16 welfare schemes run smoothly through this new portal so that more workers can benefit.
