Bihar Government to Build Budget Hotel Janki Vihar in Sitamarhi for Tourists

Patna: The Bihar Tourism Department has announced plans to construct a budget hotel, Janki Vihar, in Sitamarhi, the birthplace of Mata Janaki, to enhance facilities for tourists and devotees. The project, estimated at approximately ₹30 crore, has received administrative approval and will feature modern amenities to cater to visitors.
The proposed hotel will be a five-story structure, including 54 standard rooms and four suite rooms, along with a swimming pool. It will also provide parking space for 90 cars and five buses. The facility will be equipped with centralized air conditioning, a boundary wall, generator backup, and CCTV installation to ensure safety and comfort for guests.
Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra emphasized the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure for tourists across the state. He noted that the construction of the budget hotel is part of broader efforts to enhance tourism facilities in Sitamarhi. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation will oversee the project, which is expected to be completed within 24 months.
Additionally, Mishra mentioned ongoing development work at Punauradham, the birthplace of Mata Janaki, including the acquisition of 50 acres of land for further enhancements in tourist amenities. This initiative aims to increase the influx of devotees and provide them with quality accommodation options, ensuring a pleasant experience during their visit.
