Bihar government is working fast to clear welfare applications of Dalit families to improve their health, jobs, and daily life

Patna: The Bihar government is working hard to bring major changes to the lives of Dalit families living in around 60,000 settlements across the state. Under the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samagra Seva Abhiyan, more than 85.45 lakh applications have been received from these areas. Most people have shown interest in health-related schemes such as Ayushman Bharat cards, health cards, and health camps. Officials shared that 3.19 lakh applications have been submitted for these health benefits.

So far, 2.73 lakh applications have been processed successfully, which is about 85.54% of the total received. This information came after a recent meeting with Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena. He instructed all departments to speed up the process so that every application is settled quickly. The aim of this campaign is to include Dalit families in various government schemes related to health, jobs, and bank accounts.

During the review meeting, it was also found that many people in Dalit settlements have applied for MNREGA job cards. Until June 25, more than 4.54 lakh applications were received for job cards through special camps. Out of these, nearly 3.70 lakh applications have already been settled by the Rural Development Department. Getting job cards is important for these families as it gives them guaranteed work and income.

Chief Secretary Meena said that all applications should be settled by July 15. He added that the main goal of this campaign is to make sure no needy person has to visit government offices again and again for their rights. This special drive is expected to bring big relief and change to the daily lives of Dalit families across Bihar.
