The Bihar Home Department has directed authorities to implement the suspension of visa services for Pakistani nationals, following an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, effective from April 27, 2025.

Patna: In a significant move following an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Bihar Home Department has issued instructions to enforce the suspension of visa services for Pakistani nationals, effective from April 27. This decision was made under the provisions of Section 3(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946.

The directive follows the cancellation of SAARC visas for Pakistani nationals, announced on April 24, 2025. As per the new order (No. 25022/28/2025-F.I), all existing valid visas for Pakistani nationals, excluding long-term, diplomatic, and official visas, will be revoked immediately. Medical visas granted to Pakistani nationals will remain valid only until April 29, 2025, after which they too will be invalidated. Additionally, no new visas will be issued in these categories.

The Home Department has also instructed all district officers, Senior Superintendents of Police, and Superintendents of Police across Bihar to ensure strict compliance with these new directives.
