
Patna: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Bihar government has transferred 47 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including the district magistrates (DMs) of 18 districts, and appointed new commissioners in six divisions. The General Administration Department issued separate notifications detailing the changes, which are aimed at enhancing governance and administrative efficiency across the state.
Dr. Thiyagarajan SM, previously serving as the District Magistrate of Gaya, has been appointed as the new DM of Patna. Other notable appointments include Kundan Kumar as the DM of Nalanda, Navin Kumar in Khagaria, Kaushal Kumar in Darbhanga, and Anand Sharma in Madhubani.
In addition to the district-level changes, new divisional commissioners have been appointed in key regions. Present Patna DM, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh will now serve as the Commissioner of Patna Division, Rajeev Roushan in Saran Division, and Kaushal Kishore in Darbhanga Division.
