Bihar: Improved Arrangements for Haj Pilgrimage at Gaya Airport Expected This Year
Gaya: Around 1100 pilgrims are set to depart from Gaya Airport for the Haj pilgrimage from May 9th to May 25th. District Magistrate Dr. Thiyagarajan S.M. has detailed plans for enhanced facilities and preparations, building on last year’s successful arrangements. Key improvements include accommodations, water, toilets, health provisions, and training to prevent heat-related issues for elderly pilgrims.
Dr. Thiyagarajan emphasized that last year’s amenities like accommodation, clean water, toilets, and prayer halls at the airport will be continued this year. Additionally, facilities for water, toilets, and refreshments near Makhdumpur in Jehanabad will be set up.
Traffic management will be a priority, considering the elderly pilgrims’ needs. Special attention will be given to health-related arrangements with life-saving medicines available at the airport.
Vaccination of all pilgrims before departure is also planned. Outside Gaya Airport, pandals, toilets, and drinking water facilities will be provided for the pilgrims’ stay. Preparations are already underway through the Municipal Corporation and Council for fogging to prevent mosquito infestation and ensure cleanliness. To combat heatstroke, separate training sessions will be conducted for all pilgrims with detailed SOPs provided.
Health advisories will be distributed, and a 24*7 medical camp will be operational. With meticulous planning and a focus on the well-being of the pilgrims, this year’s Haj pilgrimage from Gaya Airport promises to offer enhanced facilities and services.
