Bihar Industries Secretary Bandana Preyashi Inspects Site for Gaya’s New Industrial Cluster
Gaya: Bandana Preyashi, Secretary of the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Dobhi in Gaya district on Saturday.
The IMC, set to be the largest industrial area in Bihar, will span an impressive 1,670 acres, making it a cornerstone of the Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC). Located in Gaya, a well-connected international hub with rich access to resources and manpower, the cluster is positioned to offer strategic advantages for businesses looking to invest in the region.
The Union Cabinet recently approved the construction of this new industrial city in Gaya as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, aimed at boosting the country’s manufacturing capabilities and fostering a robust industrial ecosystem. The initiative is part of a broader plan approved by the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to establish 12 industrial smart cities across India. Gaya has been selected as one of the key nodes in this ambitious project, which is being strategically planned along six major corridors across 10 states.
The government has earmarked an estimated Rs. 28,602 crore for the development of these industrial nodes. The establishment of an industrial smart city in Gaya is expected to significantly bolster Bihar’s economy by enhancing infrastructure, attracting investment, and creating substantial employment opportunities. This project is a critical component of a broader strategy to develop a “grand necklace” of industrial cities along India’s Golden Quadrilateral, a network of highways that connects the nation’s major industrial, agricultural, and cultural centers.
