Hyderabad/Patna: Bihar has stepped up its efforts to attract technology investment by engaging with leading global and Indian companies at the Bihar IT Industry Meet 2026 in Hyderabad, as the state seeks to establish itself as a major digital and information technology hub in eastern India.
Organised by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar, the event brought together representatives of global technology companies, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), startups, venture capital firms and industry experts for a series of strategic discussions aimed at promoting investment and long-term partnerships.
Bihar Positions Itself As A Technology Destination
Addressing the event, Information Technology Minister Nitish Mishra said the government’s objective is to position Bihar as the country’s next major destination for technology, innovation and Global Capability Centres.
He said Bihar offers investment opportunities across sectors including IT and IT-enabled services (ITES), Artificial Intelligence, data centres, electronics, DeepTech and digital services.
Mishra added that the state’s focus extends beyond attracting investment to creating a technology ecosystem where industry, innovation and young talent can grow together.
He also highlighted the state’s Ease of Doing Business reforms, Single Window Clearance System, investment incentives, skill development programmes and expanding digital infrastructure.
Officials Meet Global Technology Companies
During the programme, Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, held a series of one-to-one meetings with senior executives from leading technology companies.
Discussions with Wipro and Infosys Consulting focused on employment generation, skill development and technology partnerships.
Separate meetings were also held with representatives of Sandoz Pharma and several industry organisations to explore opportunities related to digital investment, research, innovation and the establishment of Global Capability Centres in Bihar.
IT Policy And GCC Vision Presented
Officials presented details of the Bihar IT Policy 2024 and the Bihar Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2026, outlining the state’s investment incentives, skilled workforce, digital infrastructure and administrative reforms.
The government said Bihar’s large youth population, improving business environment and policy support are creating favourable conditions for technology investments.

Focus On AI, IT Parks And Startup Ecosystem
The conference included discussions with senior representatives from JLL India GCC, Zuora, Amnex Infotechnologies, Broadcom, VAJRAM, iLogitron Technologies and RAMINFO Limited, among others.
Talks centred on potential collaboration in areas including:

- IT and ITES
- Artificial Intelligence
- Software engineering
- Electronics manufacturing
- IT parks
- Startup ecosystem development
- Research and innovation
- Skill development
Bihar Seeks Larger Share Of India’s Digital Economy
The Information Technology Department said the Hyderabad event was intended to demonstrate Bihar’s readiness to host large-scale technology investments and strengthen partnerships with global companies.
Officials said the initiative reflects the state’s ambition to emerge as a leading destination for technology, innovation, digital services and Global Capability Centres, positioning Bihar as a growing digital investment hub in eastern India.
