Patna: Bihar’s Labour Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh and department secretary Deepak Anand have left for Geneva, Switzerland, to take part in the 113th International Labour Conference. The event is being organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO) from June 2 to 13
The minister and secretary will join India’s official delegation at the conference. Minister Singh has been invited by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment as a guest minister. The state government said this is a proud moment for Bihar, as the minister will share the state’s efforts and experiences in labour welfare on a global stage.
During the visit, Singh is expected to speak about the state’s labour policies, reforms, and welfare programmes. The conference will also allow the team to learn about the work being done for workers in other countries. Meetings with other international delegates will be held from June 4 to 6 .
India is a key member of the ILO and sends a high-level team to this important global event every year. With Bihar’s inclusion in the delegation, the state hopes to strengthen its role in shaping labour welfare discussions and building better policies for workers at home.
