Bihar Launches Digital Portal to Streamline Access to 16 Labour Welfare Schemes

Patna: In a bid to enhance transparency and accessibility in labour welfare, Bihar’s Labour Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh on Wednesday unveiled a new digital portal for the state’s Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The platform, accessible at https://bocwscheme.bihar.gov.in, aims to provide workers with one-click access to information on 16 government welfare schemes.

Launched at the Dashrath Manjhi Labour and Employment Study Institute in Patna, the portal also enables online registration, renewal of membership, and application for benefits. A key feature includes real-time tracking of application status, which officials say will reduce bureaucratic delays and increase accountability.

Calling it a “historic step towards social security through technology,” he said the portal would help bridge the gap between workers and the government, promoting greater transparency and efficiency in welfare delivery.

He directed department officials to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of all schemes via the new platform so that a larger number of registered labourers can benefit from the services.
