Patna: More than 2,500 job seekers gathered at the Dashrath Manjhi Labour and Employment Studies Institute in Patna on Saturday, marking the third day of the “Mega Job Fair-2025”, an employment initiative by the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM). The fair, organised under the state’s Labour Resources Department, witnessed the selection of over 700 candidates by a range of national and international companies.
Organisers reported that Saturday drew the largest turnout yet, with young people from across Bihar attending in hopes of securing employment. On-the-spot motivational training and career counselling were provided to help participants prepare for interviews and align their career choices with their individual skillsets.
Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labour Resources Department and Chief Executive Officer of BSDM, described the job fair as a “foundation of confidence, skills and future building” for Bihar’s youth. “The government’s continuous effort is to provide quality employment opportunities that connect our youth with national and global companies,” Anand said.
Rajesh Bharti, Additional CEO of BSDM, echoed this sentiment, calling the event “a concrete initiative towards a self-reliant future”. He confirmed the fair would resume on Monday and Tuesday, with Sunday being a weekly holiday.
More than 80 prominent companies are participating in the event, including L&T, Muthoot Finance, Zomato, MRF Limited, Sabros, Doot Transmission, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, Arvind Limited, Barbeque Nation, Quess Corp and the Sudhir Foundation.
