Bihar Minister Nitish Mishra Honoured at India-UK Achievers Awards in London
Patna: Bihar’s Industry and Tourism Minister, Nitish Mishra, has been recognised in the Government and Politics category at the India-UK Achievers Honours 2025, an event held in London to celebrate the achievements of Indian students and alumni of UK institutions.
A Prestigious International Honour
Organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK, in collaboration with the UK Department for Business and Trade, British Council, Universities UK International, Chevening, UK Council for International Student Affairs, London Higher, and UCAS, the awards honour individuals who have made significant contributions across various fields.
The winners were selected from a large pool of applicants by an 11-member jury. Five finalists were shortlisted in each category, spanning Government and Politics, Art, Culture, Entertainment and Sports, Business and Entrepreneurship, Society, Policy and Law, Education, Science and Innovation, and Media and Journalism. Their names were announced on 12 February at a special felicitation ceremony at the Cholmondeley Room and Terrace of the British Parliament (House of Lords), attended by Indian and British dignitaries.
Mishra was officially honoured during the main ceremony at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London, on February 13. His recognition highlights his contributions to governance and public service.
A Journey of Academic and Leadership Excellence
A British Chevening Scholar, Mishra holds a master’s degree in Global Political Economy from the University of Hull in the UK. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge (US) and was recognised as an MTV Youth Icon in 2008-09.
The India-UK Achievers Honours celebrate the impact of Indian students and alumni who have excelled in their fields and contributed to society. The initiative aims to strengthen educational, economic, and cultural ties between India and the UK, reinforcing bilateral cooperation through academic and professional excellence.
