Gopalganj/Patna: Bihar’s Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Dr Sunil Kumar, on Friday planted a sapling named Sindoor behind the Thawe temple in Gopalganj, symbolically linking the act to India’s recent cross-border military action, Operation Sindoor.

Dr Kumar, who visited the temple to offer prayers before the plantation, described the gesture as a tribute to the decisive strike against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. “Our strong and determined Prime Minister gave a befitting reply to Pakistan by eliminating terrorist hideouts during Operation Sindoor,” he said, praising Narendra Modi’s leadership in the matter.

He used the occasion to call on citizens to support the Green Bihar initiative by planting more trees and protecting the environment. “Nature provides us with vital resources like food, cooking oil, medicines, cosmetics and energy. It is our duty to protect it, enhance green cover and preserve biodiversity,” he added.

Divisional Forest Officer Megha Yadav was also present at the event, which aimed to raise awareness about ecological sustainability while invoking recent national developments to inspire public participation.
