Bihar Minister Prem Kumar Inaugurates Global Travel Mart 2024 in Kolkata
Kolkata: Dr. Prem Kumar, Bihar’s Minister for Cooperative, Environment, Forest, and Climate, inaugurated the Global Travel Mart (GTM) 2024 in Kolkata on Saturday. Organized by the Travel Operators Welfare Association (TOWA) Kolkata, the event aims to unite professionals and experts from the national and international tourism industry on a single platform.
The GTM Travel Fair, held at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra within the Netaji Indoor Stadium Complex, will run from July 6 to 8. It targets small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and businesses, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their products to both B2B and B2C customers.
During the inauguration, Dr. Prem Kumar lauded the efforts and vision of GTM, emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency in the tourism industry. He remarked on the pivotal role of GTM in fostering growth and collaboration within the global travel trade.
Highlighting government support for the tourism sector, Dr. Prem Kumar mentioned several key initiatives launched by the Modi administration, including the Prasad Yojana, Swadesh Darshan Yojana, Saathi Yojana, Dekho Apna Desh Yojana, Nidhi Yojana, Champion Seva Kshetra Yojana, and various incentives for tour operators focusing on pilgrim places.
“Events like GTM 2024 not only promote Indian tourism but also aim to give it a new global identity. We are committed to elevating our business tourism sector to new heights,” Dr. Prem Kumar stated.
