Bihar News: Man’s Nose Slashed After Hen Dispute in Darbhanga Triggers Assault, Jewellery Looted

Darbhanga: A minor dispute over a hen spiraled into a violent clash involving sticks, knives, and serious injuries in Kaligaon Chamanpur village under Singhwada police station in Darbhanga district. The incident, which occurred on July 7, came to light after the victim, Khushbudan Khatoon, filed a formal complaint on July 10.

According to Khatoon’s written application to the police, the altercation began when her hen accidentally entered the premises of one Esanul Taj, who allegedly killed the bird by twisting its neck. When she protested, a group of people reportedly attacked her and her family members with sticks and sharp weapons.

Family Members Assaulted, Nose Slashed, Jewellery Snatched

In her statement, Khatoon alleged that Esanul Taj, Hasibul, Ajman, Khair, Abutuzza, Rizwan, Hamitul Nisha alias Guria, Samia Khatoon, Mokarami Khatoon, and Mohd. Raja jointly launched the attack. Her son-in-law, Mohd. Aftab, suffered a serious facial injury as his nose was reportedly cut during the assault.

Her husband, Mohd. Lalbabu, was allegedly beaten with sticks until he lost consciousness. The attackers also targeted her daughter Roshni Praveen, son Mohd. Muqbir, and son-in-law Aftab, resulting in serious injuries, including a badly injured right hand for Muqbir.

Khatoon further claimed that during the chaos, gold jewellery from Roshni Praveen’s nose and ears was forcibly snatched.

Police Register FIR, Probe Underway

Ranjit Kumar Chaudhary, Officer-in-Charge at Singhwada police station, confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and the matter is under investigation. “We are probing all angles based on the complaint. Action will be taken against those found guilty,” he stated.
