Patna: In response to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bihar government has issued a special alert across seven districts bordering Nepal. Security has been significantly intensified along the international border to prevent any cross-border movement or potential infiltration.

The districts under heightened vigilance include West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in greater numbers, and patrolling has been scaled up across border-adjacent zones.

According to officials, ongoing search operations are being carried out within a 10–12 km radius of the Nepal border. Suspected individuals are being questioned, and vehicles are being thoroughly checked at multiple points. The Bihar Police headquarters has also advised neighbouring districts to increase security preparedness.

“The border is sensitive, and we are taking every possible precaution,” said an official. “All law enforcement agencies have been instructed to stay alert and coordinate closely.”
