Bihar Police Becomes Most Followed Government Institution on Social Media in the State

Patna: Bihar Police has emerged as the leading government institution in the state in terms of social media followers, surpassing other departments and institutions. With approximately 13.15 lakh followers across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, Bihar Police have secured the top position. The breakdown of followers is 712K on Facebook, 133K on Instagram, and 470K on Twitter.
The department’s policy of zero tolerance against crime and proactive policing has significantly increased public trust. A survey by the Quality Council of India found that 32% of people are aware of Bihar Police’s social media presence, and 62% of those people follow their official pages. This growing engagement reflects the public’s confidence in the department’s efforts to maintain law and order.
In terms of social media followers, Bihar Police are also performing well nationally. It ranks fifth among police departments across the country, with more than 1.3 million followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. Kerala and Uttar Pradesh hold the first and second positions, respectively.
The department has seen a continuous increase in its social media followers. In June alone, the Facebook page’s reach was 90 lakh 30 thousand, with an increase of 60,893 followers. Instagram saw a reach of over 23 lakh and a follower increase of 10,146, while Twitter also had a reach exceeding 23 lakh.
