Bihar Police Crack Down on Fake Press and Police Stickers on Vehicles

Patna: Bihar’s Director General of Police (DGP), Vinay Kumar, has ordered a crackdown on vehicles displaying fake police, press, or army stickers in an attempt to misuse influence. The police have issued strict instructions to all district officers, mandating thorough checks and legal action against violators.

According to the order, several vehicle owners are exploiting these markings despite having no affiliation with the respective departments. The misuse of such stickers, the DGP noted, provides opportunities for anti-social elements to commit crimes.

Police officers have been directed to inspect such vehicles rigorously and take action under traffic and other legal provisions. The initiative aims to prevent crime and ensure public safety.

Traffic police have also been instructed to stop and verify vehicles displaying such labels. If found fraudulent, legal proceedings will be initiated immediately. Additionally, the police department has urged the public to report suspicious vehicles to the nearest police station.

Authorities said the move is part of a broader effort to curb unlawful activities and ensure that no one misuses official identities for personal benefit.
