Patna: In response to the escalating situation in Bangladesh, the Bihar Police Headquarters has issued a comprehensive order to enhance security and vigilance along the state’s border areas. The alert, which affects districts adjoining West Bengal and Bangladesh, includes increased patrolling and heightened vigilance measures.

The Bihar Police have been instructed to remain on high alert, particularly in the border districts of Katihar, Purnia, and Kishanganj, which are adjacent to West Bengal. The proximity of these districts to Bangladesh, especially following recent violent unrest in the neighboring country, necessitates a robust security presence.

In light of recent developments, including the resignation of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and subsequent unrest, the Bihar Police are concerned about the potential influx of individuals from Bangladesh into India. There is an anticipated risk that people affected by the violence in Bangladesh may attempt to enter India via West Bengal and subsequently Bihar.

The Bihar Police Headquarters has appealed to the public for cooperation in maintaining safety and security. Residents are urged to report any suspicious persons or objects immediately to the local police station or district police office. For urgent assistance, the public can contact the toll-free number 14432 or dial 112. Authorities have also advised against spreading or believing in rumours to avoid unnecessary panic and confusion.
