Bihar Police to Recruit Over 20,000 Constables and 2,000 Sub-Inspectors
Patna: Bihar is set to bolster its police force with a major recruitment drive announced by the state government. On Thursday, Ranjit Kumar Mishra, DIG of the Personnel Department, revealed plans to recruit more than 20,000 constables and 2,000 sub-inspectors (SI) in the coming months.
The recruitment process for 1,275 police sub-inspector positions has already commenced. Candidates interested in these positions will need to report to the DIG office in their respective districts with the necessary documentation. Mishra emphasized that failure to present the required documents within the designated time frame will result in disqualification.
Required Documents for Recruitment:
– Valid photo identity card (voter ID, driving license, Aadhaar card)
– Graduation or equivalent examination certificate
– Date of birth certificate (original matriculation certificate)
– Caste certificate (for female candidates, issued based on father’s details)
– NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate (also based on father’s details)
– Certificate of permanent residence in Bihar (for all reserved category candidates)
– Certificate related to the freedom fighter status of grandparents (if applicable)
Verification Period: August 1 to August 10
All selected candidates must submit their documents and appear for verification from August 1 to August 10, 2024. Following the document review, educational qualifications, character verification, and medical examinations will be conducted. Suitable candidates will then receive appointment letters from the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in their home districts. Non-compliance within the stipulated period may lead to cancellation of candidature.
The recruitment follows the examination conducted by the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission for the 1,275 sub-inspector positions. After the final results were released on July 9, the Commission recommended appointments to the Personnel Department.
With this significant recruitment drive, Bihar aims to strengthen its police force and enhance law enforcement capabilities across the state.
