Darbhanga: A significant meeting of the District Coordination Committee was convened under the leadership of Deputy Development Commissioner Pratibha Rani at the Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Auditorium within the Collectorate premises. The meeting discussed crucial issues related to various development projects in the district.

During the session, Dr. Rashmi Verma, the District Program Officer, brought to light the delay in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOC) for designated lands earmarked for the construction of Anganwadi centers within school premises. It was highlighted that the NOCs have not been received from all identified locations.

To expedite the process, the committee issued instructions for a collective endorsement from the Chief Development Officer (CDO), Regional Officer, and Block Education Officer for the specified lands. Further directives were given to accelerate the submission of the required documentation. A representative from the Health Department conveyed that additional land for the Nehra Primary Health Center is yet to be acquired. Meanwhile, the Manigachhi Regional Officer affirmed the availability of ample land for an additional primary health center in Manigachhi, suggesting the feasibility of constructing a hospital in the area.

In a significant decision regarding Darbhanga Airport, the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department announced that a tender has been initiated for the removal of power lines from the airport’s premises. The removal process, including electricity poles and wires, is expected to be completed within a week.

The meeting also addressed challenges in the construction of Waste Processing Units (WPU) under the Rural Development Department. It was noted that inappropriate land allocations by several regional officers have led to delays in multiple WPU projects.

To streamline land allocation processes, employees and regional officers received strict instructions to identify suitable land within 48 hours and mark it for demarcation. The committee acknowledged instances where landowners posed obstacles to WPU construction on government-owned land adjacent to their properties. Instructions were issued to Block Development Officers (BDO), Chief Executive Officers (CEO), and Education Officers (EO) to visit the sites and resolve these issues promptly.

The meeting unveiled that 246 buildings, constructed under the Sampoorna Grameen Swarajya Yojana (SGSVY) and identified by Jeevika, were under scrutiny. The District Program Manager (DPM) of Jeevika assured that a comprehensive list of these buildings would soon be provided to all concerned Block Development Officers.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted pending account reconciliations for pension amounts distributed through numerous Panchayat Secretaries under social security. All Block Development Officers received directives to expedite the reconciliation of accounts and documents related to social security pension distribution. Furthermore, instructions were given to manage the documentation and adjustments for transferred Panchayat Secretaries in their new locations.
