PATNA – A major disruption hit the rail network as an unexpected cut in the signal wire at Bihta station in the Danapur division brought several prominent trains, including Rajdhani Express and Sampoorna Kranti Express, to an abrupt halt. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm on Saturday evening, leaving passengers stranded and services suspended for nearly two hours.

Railway officials were alerted to the malfunction in signal number 7, prompting an immediate investigation. It was discovered that the signal wires had been deliberately cut, bringing train operations to a standstill

. The affected trains, such as Farakka Express, Rajdhani Express, and Sampoorna Kranti Express, faced disruptions at various stations.

The halt caused significant inconvenience to passengers, particularly those on long-distance journeys. Rajdhani Express, for instance, was forced to a standstill at Bihta station at 8:23 pm, along with other affected trains. Operations resumed around 9:55 pm after signal repairs.

The disruption also impacted Kumbh Express, which was halted at Patna station, and Tata Super in Danapur. Raghunathpur passenger train faced a two-hour stoppage at Bihta. Passengers grappled with the unforeseen delays, emphasizing the challenges of such interruptions.

Railway engineers have initiated an investigation into the deliberate cutting of signal wires, promising to find the motives behind the act.
