Bihar Registration Department Surpasses Rs 7,500 Crore Revenue Target Ahead Of Schedule

Patna: The Bihar Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department has met its revenue target of Rs 7,500 crore for the financial year 2024-25, achieving 100% of the goal by March 26. The total revenue collection now stands at Rs 7,516.63 crore, or 100.22% of the set target, marking an increase of Rs 1,345.72 crore compared to the previous year’s revenue of Rs 6,170.91 crore. This is the highest revenue collection recorded to date.

The department has been closely monitoring revenue collection through weekly video conferencing meetings led by Departmental Secretary Vinod Singh Gunjiyal and Inspector General of Registration Rajneesh Kumar Singh. Registration officers received continuous guidance, including directives from Department’s Minister Ratnesh Sada, to ensure efficient tax collection.

Registration officers played a crucial role in meeting the target by conducting site inspections and identifying cases of revenue loss. Strict action has been taken against officials found responsible for any discrepancies. A total of 83 registration offices exceeded their revenue targets, with Babubarhi, Nirmali, Jaynagar, and Madhaura among the highest-performing sub-registration offices.

To improve accessibility for the public, the department has introduced the “eNibandhan” software, a citizen-centric platform enabling online registration from home. The software allows applicants to track their application status, access land category details, and calculate payable fees. It also includes an e-KYC feature using Aadhaar authentication, enhancing transparency and efficiency in the registration process.
