Patna, 19th October 2023: In a move aimed at boosting tourism and enhancing devotee experience, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will lay the foundation stone for a Rs 28.97 crore beautification and development project at the Thawe temple complex in Gopalganj district today. The ambitious project aims to wrap up within 18 months and includes a multitude of amenities designed to provide convenience for visitors and stimulate the region’s tourism sector.
Three-Zone Developmental Scheme
The temple complex will be divided into three zones, each with specific development goals.
Zone 1: Commercial Facilities
Zone 1 is slated for commercial development with plans to construct approximately 800 shops. Of these, 200 shops will be built in the first phase. A grand main entrance near the Gol Chakra on Gopalganj Siwan NH is also in the works, aimed at drawing visitors into the temple complex. This zone will also feature drinking water facilities at multiple points.
Zone 2: Devotee Comfort and Accessibility
Zone 2 focuses on the devotees’ comfort, with queue management systems planned for temple entry and a beautified small pond encircled by seating arrangements. This area will be developed as a green zone, featuring an accessible toilet and drinking water facilities behind Kisan Bhawan. Additionally, VIP guesthouse and parking facilities are in the pipeline.
Zone 3: Leisure and Recreation
In Zone 3, aesthetic enhancements to the Bhakta Rahshu Temple and Big Pond are planned. A green lawn to the south of the Rahshu temple will offer devotees a space for singing bhajans and kirtans. A musical fountain, along with terraced seating arrangements and proper lighting, is also planned for the big pond. A metal foot-over bridge across the pond will offer tourists not just a shortcut but also a selfie spot.
Additional Amenities
Both passenger residences in this zone will undergo renovation, and a children’s park is proposed to ensure that the younger visitors are not left out.Â
