Bihar School Examination Board Announces Schedule for Third, Fourth and Fifth Competency Tests for Local Body Teachers

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the dates for the next phases of competency tests for teachers of local bodies, with the third competency test scheduled to be held from May 10 to May 15.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore said that 30,221 teacher candidates have applied online to appear in Competency Test III, covering candidates teaching classes 1–5, 6–8, 9–10, and 11–12. The committee has set a target to release the results by May 31.
Kishore further announced that online applications for Competency Test IV and V will be open from May 7 to May 14. Candidates who fail Competency Test III will be able to deposit the application fee for Competency Test IV on June 2 and 3. Competency Test IV will be conducted on June 15 and 16, with results expected by June 30.
Similarly, teacher candidates who fail Competency Test IV can submit fees for Competency Test V on July 2 and 3. Competency Test V will be held on July 15 and 16, with results likely to be declared by July 31.
Kishore noted that the board has already conducted two phases of competency tests. In the first phase, 1,99,027 teachers participated, with 1,87,818 passing. In the second phase, 80,713 teachers appeared, and 65,716 cleared the examination.
The competency tests aim to ensure minimum teaching standards among local body teachers across Bihar, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of education at the grassroots level.
