Bihar School Examination Board Suspends Affiliation of 178 Government Secondary Schools
Patna: In response to recommendations from the Affiliation Committee of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), the affiliation of 178 aided secondary schools has been temporarily suspended, and affiliation for three secondary schools has been terminated. This decision was reached during a meeting convened by the newly formed governing board of BSEB under the chairmanship of Anand Kishore on Saturday.
According to an official statement from BSEB, students affected by the suspension or cancellation of school affiliations will be seamlessly accommodated in nearby schools to ensure the continuity of their education.
The decision to suspend the affiliations of 178 aided secondary schools and cancel the affiliations of three secondary schools is attributed to their failure to meet the specified conditions outlined in the Bihar School Examination Board Affiliation Regulations of 2011. The 178 affected secondary schools were found to be lacking in various standards stipulated by these regulations, including inadequacies in classroom facilities, teaching staff, laboratories, computer resources, access to electricity, restroom accommodations, and teacher and girls’ common room facilities.
In the case of the three schools whose affiliations were revoked, the grounds for this action were non-compliance with land standards, a lack of cooperation with investigative authorities, and a failure to adhere to various prescribed regulations.
The suspension and cancellation of affiliations reflect the BSEB’s commitment to upholding established quality standards in secondary education. Affected students will soon be integrated into nearby institutions, ensuring that their education remains uninterrupted.
