Patna: The Bihar education department is soon going to post 5,971 new headmasters in the state’s higher secondary schools. These headmasters have been selected by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Officials said the posting process has started and will be completed by next week. This will help schools that have been running without headmasters for a long time.
A senior officer from the Secondary Education Directorate said that counselling of the selected candidates has already been done. They were asked to choose three divisions and districts where they would like to work. After this, candidates were told to select five blocks within their allotted district for posting.
Teachers selected from local bodies filled their block choices through their login IDs on the e-Shiksha Kosh portal. Teachers working in CBSE, ICSE, and BSEB-affiliated schools also filled their five block options using the software. The deadline to fill these options has now ended.
Officials said that if any candidate has not given their block choices, then the software will automatically allot them a block and school in their district. The education department said this process will be completed soon so that schools get their new headmasters without further delay.
