Bihar Set for Rs 730.59 Crore Rail Projects, Says Deputy CM

Patna: Work on two new railway lines in Bihar, worth Rs 730.59 crore, is set to begin soon, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced after a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The projects—Bihta–Aurangabad and Sultanganj–Deoghar—are expected to improve connectivity and travel efficiency in the state.

Choudhary highlighted the impact of the 78.08 km Sultanganj–Deoghar railway line, which is being developed at a cost of Rs 290 crore. “Once completed, the project will make travel much easier for the thousands of devotees visiting Deoghar during the Shravani Mela,” he said. The new line will also provide direct rail links between Sultanganj, Asarganj, Tarapur, Belhar, and Deoghar.

Additionally, the government has sanctioned Rs 440.59 crore for a 12.90 km railway line from Anugrah Narayan Road to Aurangabad. This project is part of the broader Bihta–Aurangabad railway line, which aims to reduce travel time between Patna and Aurangabad to just 1.5 to 2 hours. Fourteen stations are planned along the route.

Campaigning in Delhi

Alongside discussions on infrastructure, Choudhary also took time to campaign for the NDA in Delhi ahead of the assembly elections. Addressing public meetings in four constituencies on Wednesday and Thursday, he claimed that voters were ready to remove Arvind Kejriwal’s administration.

“The people of Delhi have decided to end this disastrous rule. This time, the BJP will form the government,” he said.

Choudhary campaigned for BJP candidates Chandan Kumar Choudhary in Sangam, Kulwant Rana in Rithala, Karamveer Karma in Sultanpur Majra, and Banjarang Shukla in Kirari.
