Patna: Bihar is gearing up to host a high-profile launch for the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, with the unveiling of the event’s logo, mascot, torch, anthem and jersey scheduled to take place in Patna on April 14.
The ceremony marks a major step in the state’s efforts to foster a stronger sports culture and showcase its readiness to host the prestigious youth event. Bihar Sports Minister Surendra Mehta, Additional Chief Secretary (Sports) B Rajendra and Bihar State Sports Authority Director General Ravindran Shankaran have been in New Delhi extending formal invitations to top dignitaries from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse and Sports Authority of India Director General Sujata Chaturvedi are among those invited to attend the Patna launch.
The event will serve as the official curtain-raiser for the Games, with the logo and mascot reveal expected to be the highlight of the evening. Organisers say the launch will not only mark the beginning of the countdown but also celebrate Bihar’s cultural identity while building momentum among young athletes across the country.
The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 are scheduled from May 4 to 15 and will be spread across five cities—Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Begusarai. The event is expected to draw more than 10,000 athletes, and for the first time, e-sports will be included as a demonstration sport.
By hosting the Games, the Bihar government hopes to expand sporting infrastructure, create opportunities for youth, and position the state as a rising force in India’s athletic landscape.
