Bihar Shines At National Joint Counter IED-Exercise “Visfot Kavach”
PATNA – The National Security Guard (NSG) Training Centre in Manesar, Haryana, hosted the Annual National Joint Counter IED-Exercise “Visfot Kavach.” The exercise brought together teams from various states, emphasizing the use of Bomb Detection (BD) squads and dog squads, evaluating equipment performance, canine utilization, and training quality.
In the 7th edition of “Visfot Kavach-VII” held from October 30, 2023, to November 4, 2023, Bihar’s Anti-Terrorism Squad BD team, Security Division BD team, and Crime Investigation Department Dog Squad participated, securing the second position in the group.
Teams from different states, including Octopus (Andhra Pradesh), West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tripura, Central Reserve Police Force, and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), joined forces to enhance their joint capabilities in countering improvised explosive devices.
During the award distribution cum closing ceremony, Director General of Police, National Security Guard, M.A. Ganapati, accompanied by other Inspector Generals of Police, commended the exceptional performance of Bihar’s BD team. The officers at the level of Deputy Inspector General led the BD team from Bihar.
The top three positions in the event were secured by:
- Andhra Pradesh (1st)
- Bihar (2nd)
- West Bengal (3rd)
The exercise encompassed a series of activities, including interviews, quizzes, group discussions, coordination exercises, and briefings, allowing participating teams to showcase their expertise and formulate incident-related plans. Â
