Bihar: Six police officers injured in anti-liquor operation in Muzaffarpur

Liquor has been banned in Bihar since 2016

MUZAFFARPUR – Six police officers, including a sub-inspector, were injured when they were attacked by supporters of bootleggers.

Upon receiving information about illicit liquor, the police had reached Garha Thana, where supporters of the bootleggers attacked them. Four individuals have been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway through questioning and verification. The injured police officers were admitted to the primary health center in Bochaha for treatment.

The police stated that most of the attackers were armed with sticks and knives. The incident is part of a series where law enforcement faces attacks during anti-liquor operations in various regions, prompting legal actions against those obstructing government actions.

Despite wielding the law, individuals continue to challenge law enforcement during government operations. It’s noteworthy that prior incidents of attacks on police during anti-liquor operations have occurred in places like Ahijapur, Motipur, Kanti, Sakra, and other areas.
