Bihar Sports Authority to Appoint 103 Coaches for 25 Sports Disciplines, Applications Open
Patna: The Bihar State Sports Authority has announced the recruitment of 103 sports coaches for 25 different disciplines at the Bihar Sports Academy. This step, part of a broader effort to develop competitive athletes at the national and international levels, comes after the state government created 200 coaching positions.
Applications for these contract-based appointments are open from 3rd October to 14th November, and candidates can apply online. Athletics will see the highest number of appointments, with 15 coaches being hired. Other sports included in the recruitment drive are para athletics, football, kabaddi, weightlifting, boxing, shooting, swimming, and various water sports.
A screening committee formed by the Bihar State Sports Authority will evaluate the candidates for a period of one year, focusing on merit, service, and performance. Based on this assessment, contract extensions may be offered.
In addition to the recruitment initiative, the Bihar State Sports Authority will also organize the Women’s Paragliding Championship in Rajgir from 11th to 20th November. The event will feature a trophy tour across all 38 districts in the state, marking a significant occasion for sports enthusiasts in Bihar.
“This initiative will prove to be a milestone in the sports development of the state,” said Ravindra Shankar, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority and Bihar Sports Academy. “We hope that this will enable the athletes of Bihar to receive world-class training. The appointed coaches may be posted either at the Bihar Sports Academy or in any district of the state.”
