Bihar Sports University Gets UGC Recognition
Rajgir: Bihar Sports University in Rajgir has received recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC), marking a significant milestone for the state’s sports and education sector. This recognition enables the university to commence academic courses in Physical Education and Sports Science.
Starting from the academic session 2025-26, the university will offer specialized courses, including Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Sports Coaching, focusing on two or three major sports. Additionally, a Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Yoga will be introduced to promote professional education in yoga. A 4-year Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) program is also planned, subject to approval from the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
The primary objective of the university is to deliver quality education and training in Physical Education and Sports Science, empowering students with both academic qualifications and practical expertise in sports. The university aims to position itself as a center of excellence in sports education.
