Bihar Suffers 9-Wicket Loss Against Hyderabad in U-15 Women’s Trophy

Patna: In the Women’s Under-15 One Day Trophy organised by the BCCI, Bihar faced a crushing 9-wicket defeat against Hyderabad in their opening Group A match at KSCA Navule Stadium, Shimoga, Karnataka. Bihar, opting to bat first after winning the toss under captain Pratibha Sahni, managed to score only 88 runs in 34.3 overs, losing all their wickets.
Bihar’s batting lineup struggled, with Pratibha Sahni scoring the highest, 21 runs, followed by Priya Raj with 12 and Anushka contributing 10. Other batters, including Akshara Gupta (3), Kritika Kanak (7), Ainam Jamal (6), and Anjali Kumari (4), failed to make significant contributions. Anvesha Singh, Nandani Kumari, and Anushka went out for ducks. Hyderabad’s bowlers Sanjana, Ashrita, Shaik Aisha, and Vemula Jenishka each took one wicket, while six Bihar batters were run out.
Chasing a modest target, Hyderabad cruised to victory, scoring 90 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 10.3 overs. Geetika Priyadarshini was dismissed by Vaishnavi Singh for 6 runs. However, Vemula Jenishka remained unbeaten on 34, and Arshitha secured an unbeaten 28 to seal the win for Hyderabad.
Bihar’s next match in the tournament is scheduled against Nagaland on November 23.
