Sabour: Bihar’s sugarcane industry minister, Krishnanandan Paswan, visited Bihar Agricultural University in Sabour on Thursday, reviewing ongoing research in sugarcane production and modern agricultural techniques.
During his visit, Paswan toured state-of-the-art facilities, including the university’s hydroponic technology unit, tissue culture lab, and research fields. He engaged with scientists working on sugarcane research, stressing the importance of innovation and high-yield techniques to boost sugarcane farming in Bihar. He urged researchers to develop effective strategies to disseminate advanced techniques among farmers, making sugarcane cultivation more profitable.
Commending the university’s research efforts under Vice-Chancellor Dr D.R. Singh, Paswan praised the institution’s contribution to agricultural education and pledged full support from the state government.
The visit was attended by key officials, including Dr Feeza Ahmad, director of the seed project; Dr A.K. Singh, director of research; Dr R.K. Sohane, director of extension education; Dr Mukesh Kumar, principal of Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour; and Dr Rajesh Kumar, the university’s public relations officer.
