Bihar: Tejashwi Yadav Releases RJD Manifesto Promising 1 Crore Jobs, 200 units free electricity, Rs 1 Lakh to Women and More
PATNA: Former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, spearheading the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), unveiled the party’s manifesto, named “Parivartan Patra,” on Saturday. The manifesto, outlined at the RJD office during a press conference, lays out a comprehensive vision for Bihar’s future if the RJD comes to power.
Tejashwi Yadav highlighted key promises, including the ambitious pledge to generate 1 crore jobs across the country, starting from August 15. He emphasized the urgency of addressing unemployment and assured the commencement of recruitment processes for 30 lakh vacant positions immediately after forming the government, with an additional creation of 70 lakh new posts.
Among the promises outlined in the manifesto, the RJD pledged to provide gas cylinders for Rs 500, offer special state status to Bihar, and grant 200 units of free electricity. Additionally, the manifesto commits to providing Rs 1 lakh annually to poor women and implementing MSP for 10 crops. The party also vowed to discontinue the Agniveer scheme and grant martyr status to paramilitary forces.
Infrastructure development was also a focal point, with plans to construct 5 new airports in Bhagalpur, Purnia, Raxaul, Muzaffarpur, and Gopalganj.
Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence in fulfilling the promises outlined in the manifesto, citing past accomplishments such as the caste-based census and increasing reservation limits akin to Tamil Nadu.
Following the manifesto release, Tejashwi Yadav took to social media to reaffirm his commitment to addressing unemployment and providing financial assistance to women from poor families.
In response to RJD’s manifesto, political parties offered varied reactions. BJP candidate from Patliputra, Ramkripal Yadav, criticized the manifesto as a “bundle of lies,” while JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar questioned the RJD’s national agenda, citing the party’s limited electoral presence.
Chirag Paswan of LJP dismissed the manifesto, pointing to the historical track record of Tejashwi Yadav’s family in governance. Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi also raised concerns about the feasibility and implications of RJD’s promises.
