Bihar to Boost Film Industry with New Policies and Atal Kala Bhavan in 38 Districts
Patna: Deputy Chief Minister and Art Culture Minister Vijay Sinha highlighted the achievements of his department over the past year, emphasizing the promotion of Bihar’s film industry and cultural heritage. He described the Bihar Film Promotion Policy 2024 as a major milestone, aimed at attracting filmmakers, generating employment, and boosting state revenue. He also noted that the release of the Pushpa 2 trailer at Gandhi Maidan in Patna and actor Allu Arjun’s visit were significant cultural moments for Bihar.
Sinha stated that the government is working to develop locations across the state with necessary facilities to encourage film shoots. The policy will help in preserving and promoting Bihar’s traditional and Sanatani culture. Events like the Simaria Dham Mahotsav, Hariharnath Mahotsav, Panchamrit Mahotsav, Bihar Virasat Gyanotsav, and the State Level Youth Festival 2024 in Lakhisarai have played a crucial role in this effort.
A proposal has been introduced to construct Atal Kala Bhavan in all 38 districts. These centers will include audio-video studios to support training and recording for artists. This initiative aims to provide a structured platform for talent development in Bihar’s cultural sector.
Additionally, a proposal has been sent to the Government of India for establishing a Film City in Bihar under the new film policy. If approved, this project will significantly enhance Bihar’s standing in the Indian film industry, providing filmmakers with state-of-the-art infrastructure and making the state a prime destination for movie production.
