Supaul: The Bihar Tourism Department has sanctioned ₹29.53 crore for the construction of a Mid-Way Service Plaza in Supaul, near Kosi Mahasetu on NH-27. The project will be developed on the department’s land at Asanpur Kupaha under Supaul district and is part of ongoing efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure across the state.

The upcoming service plaza will offer modern amenities to travelers, including a food court, restaurant, indoor sports activities, retail outlets, e-charging points, fuel stations, public facilities, and parking. The Tourism Department, in its detailed plans, aims to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for both tourists and the general public traveling on this busy route.

This state-of-the-art facility will be executed in phases, with Phase-1 focusing on the main building and essential services. There are also proposals for an entertainment zone and advertising facades to make the site more engaging. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation will oversee the construction, with a target completion timeline of 24 months.

NH-27, a vital corridor connecting Porbandar to Silchar, experiences heavy traffic, and the introduction of this multipurpose plaza will enhance the overall travel experience for passengers, providing them with much-needed high-quality services during their journey.
