Patna: Travellers planning a trip to Bihar can now access a comprehensive set of resources at the click of a button, following the launch of the state’s newly revamped tourism website.

The website — www.tourism.bihar.gov.in — was officially unveiled on Tuesday by Bihar’s tourism minister, Raju Kumar Singh, at an event held in the Directorate of Tourism auditorium. The platform, described by officials as a centralised digital hub, offers detailed and updated information on destinations, travel services, state policies and upcoming events.

Speaking at the launch, Singh said the portal aims to provide tourists with easy access to information about Bihar’s diverse tourism circuits, which include the Buddha Circuit, Jain Circuit, Sikh Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, Eco Circuit, Sufi Circuit and Gandhi Circuit. Each section of the site contains historical background, religious significance, and available tourism facilities across the districts.

Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Tourism Department, added that the website is designed to serve not just tourists and travel enthusiasts, but also researchers and those interested in government schemes. It is available in both Hindi and English, and offers district-wise and circuit-wise breakdowns of key tourist spots.

The site also features a schedule of the department’s annual events, allowing visitors to plan their trips around festivals and cultural programmes. Users can access lists of recognised guides, tour operators, and certified hotels — all aimed at enhancing the travel experience through trusted services.

Additional features include downloadable brochures and maps tailored to individual districts. Social media integration is also part of the outreach strategy, with Bihar Tourism maintaining active profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube under the handle @tourismbihargov.

The site provides transparency around the state’s tourism policies, including the Bihar Tourism Policy, the Chief Minister Homestay Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme, and the Bihar Tourism Marketing and Branding Policy. According to the minister, online application forms for various schemes and recognition processes will soon be integrated.

A mobile application with the same functionality is currently under development. Future updates are expected to include the ability to book government-backed tour packages directly via the platform.
