Bihar: Undertrial Prisoner ‘Chhote Sarkar’ Shot Dead At Danapur Court Campus
PATNA – An undertrial prisoner, identified as Abhishek alias Chhote Sarkar, was shot dead in broad daylight today at the Danapur Court campus. The deceased, a resident of Bihta, was facing charges related to multiple cases, including murder, robbery, and extortion.
The incident took place as Abhishek, a resident of Sikandarpur under Bihta police station, accompanied by five policemen, was brought from Beur jail for a court appearance. Two assailants ambushed the group, firing a total of six rounds that claimed Abhishek’s life on the spot. Police have recovered four shell casings from the crime scene.
The assailants attempted to flee the spot, but quick-thinking lawyers assisted the police in apprehending both criminals. Two pistols were recovered from the arrested miscreants. One of the attackers sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the confrontation and is currently hospitalized.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accused, Abhishek, was not handcuffed when brought into the court campus. The police hastily restrained him after the attack.
A policeman recounted the chaotic moment, stating, “A miscreant opened fire from the front, and while we pursued him, another assailant shot from behind. We could not comprehend the situation; it was like our brains stopped working.”
City SP West Rajesh Kumar revealed that Abhishek had pending cases in Bihta police station, and the motive behind the attack is yet to be determined. Both attackers, now in police custody, will undergo interrogation to ascertain the mastermind behind the assault and unravel the motives behind the shocking daylight murder.
