Bihar Utsav 2025: A Celebration of Tradition, Craftsmanship, and Culture

New Delhi/Patna: Bihar’s rich artistic and cultural heritage is taking center stage at Bihar Utsav 2025, which is being held at Dilli Haat, INA, from March 16 to March 31. The festival brings together artisans, weavers, and handicraft experts from across the state, offering visitors a glimpse into Bihar’s traditional craftsmanship.
A key attraction of the event will be the Bihar Diwas celebrations on March 22, featuring grand cultural performances that showcase the vibrant folk music and dance traditions of the state.
The festival was inaugurated by Kundan Kumar, Resident Commissioner, Bihar Bhawan, with Shekhar Anand, Director, Technical Development, as the guest of honor.
“Bihar Utsav is not just an exhibition of our state’s art and culture but also a bridge that connects people from across the country to Bihar’s unique heritage,” said Kundan Kumar at the opening ceremony. “We hope this festival inspires visitors to explore Bihar’s traditions firsthand.”
Guest of Honor Shekhar Anand emphasized the festival’s role in supporting artisans and preserving cultural heritage. “Events like Bihar Utsav provide a platform for Bihar’s craftsmen at national and international levels while also contributing to the state’s economic growth,” he said.
Visitors can explore an extensive display of Bihar’s renowned silk and khadi garments, Madhubani paintings, Tikuli and Manjusha art, Sujni embroidery, Sikki craft, and exquisite wooden and bamboo products. A highlight of the event is the food stalls offering authentic Bihari cuisine, allowing guests to experience the flavors of the region.
Bihar Utsav 2025 is an annual initiative by the Government of Bihar aimed at promoting the state’s cultural heritage to a wider audience. Through this event, artisans and entrepreneurs find opportunities to expand their reach while keeping Bihar’s traditional arts alive for future generations.
